A remarkable tribute to Michel Parmigiani, this one-of-a-kind piece highlights the exceptional blend of mechanical precision and artistic craftsmanship that defines the Swiss watchmaking maison.
Every year on December 2, the birthday of founder Michel Parmigiani, Parmigiani Fleurier unveils a horological masterpiece. This year, the brand presents a creation with a chiming mechanism: the L’armoriale Répétition Mystérieuse. This extraordinary timepiece combines cutting-edge mechanical engineering with artistic elegance, serving as a perfect homage to Michel’s legacy as a master watchmaker.
Crafted in white gold, the case of this timepiece is custom-designed, incorporating design elements drawn from Doric columns and the Golden Ratio to emphasize the geometry and timeless beauty of classical architecture. Instead of displaying the time on the front, the watch features a soft pastel green guilloché pattern, with intricate engravings of a pinecone.
The hours and minutes are revealed on the back of the watch, marked by rose gold letters “H” and “M,” while the outer dial showcases a Guatemalan white jade disc adorned with circular indices.
The intention behind this unconventional design is not just to give the piece a unique character, but also to forge a deeper connection between the wearer and the watch by relying primarily on sound to tell the time.
As CEO Guido Terreni shared: “We created the Armoriale Répétition Mystérieuse to elevate the simple act of telling time, inviting its owner to experience time through sound, in homage to the original purpose of minute repeaters—telling time in the dark, long before electricity. While the ear listens, the eye is free to admire the artistry of our master craftsmen.”
