Luxury automotive brand Lamborghini has reportedly suspended all sales and vehicle deliveries across the Middle East, as ongoing regional tensions continue to disrupt logistics, close showrooms, and block shipping routes, according to Reuters.
The decision reflects a complete pause in commercial activity across one of the brand’s key luxury markets, where demand is traditionally driven by seasonal purchasing cycles and high-net-worth clientele.
“We cannot ship cars” – CEO confirms full halt
The company’s Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that operations in the region have come to a full stop.
“We cannot ship cars. Either dealerships are closed or there is simply no traffic to them,” he said, speaking during a Lamborghini event at Milan Fashion Week.
His remarks underline the operational challenges facing the brand as distribution channels remain disrupted across multiple markets.
Risk of losing a key luxury season
Winkelmann also noted that Lamborghini risks losing a significant portion of its annual sales cycle in the Gulf region, where demand is highly seasonal.
The Middle East luxury car market typically sees stronger activity before and after the summer months, while extreme heat conditions during peak summer already reduce showroom visits and customer engagement.
With current disruptions, that balance is now further strained.
A luxury market under pressure
The Middle East remains a strategically important region for ultra-luxury automotive brands, driven by strong appetite for high-performance and bespoke vehicles. However, the current situation has introduced uncertainty into a market that relies heavily on timing, visibility, and physical dealership experience.
Winkelmann, whose company operates under the Volkswagen Group, warned that the brand may struggle to recover the lost sales momentum later in the year if conditions persist.
Sales at risk of not being recovered
As Lamborghini navigates the disruption, the concern extends beyond short-term delivery delays. The bigger challenge, according to leadership, is whether postponed demand can realistically be recovered within the same fiscal cycle.
For now, the company remains in a holding position, awaiting stabilization before resuming operations in the region.
