The Pet Shop, the leading retail chain specializing in pet products and care in the UAE, has announced a strategic partnership with Mars Gulf to enhance access to a premium range of pet nutrition products across the country. This initiative reflects the growing awareness of quality pet care among UAE pet owners.
Through this partnership, The Pet Shop will expand its offering to include a wide selection of Mars Petcare brands, providing globally trusted, research-backed solutions for pet owners both in-store and online.
The collaboration features nine Mars Petcare brands, covering daily nutrition, healthy treats, and hygiene solutions. Key nutrition brands include Sheba, Whiskas, Pedigree, Iams, Cesar, and Trail, designed to support pets’ health at all life stages and cater to diverse dietary needs. The range is complemented by healthy treat options such as Dreamies, alongside hygiene and care products including Catsan and Thomas, offering a complete approach to daily pet care.
With the UAE pet food market valued at over AED 367 million and continuing to grow, the demand for premium, scientifically backed nutrition solutions is on the rise. Specialized retail stores play a crucial role in guiding purchase decisions and offering consistently trusted brands.
Amr Hazem Youssef, CEO of The Pet Shop, said:
“Over the past 15 years, we have earned the trust of our customers in the UAE pet care community. Today, this trust brings greater responsibilities. Pet owners are seeking transparent, science-based solutions and reliable brands committed to long-term pet welfare. Partnering with Mars allows us to elevate pet care standards in this market by facilitating access to research-backed nutrition solutions and enhancing the overall pet care experience across the UAE.”
Mars products are supported by the WALTHAM Petcare Science Institute, the company’s global center for animal nutrition and health research. The company invests in innovative alternative ingredients and sustainable sourcing practices, aligned with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.
Ekaterina Pichugova, General Manager of Mars Gulf, added:
“We believe pets make the world a better place. This partnership with The Pet Shop is an important step in expanding access to trusted Mars Petcare brands for pet owners across the UAE. By combining our nearly 90 years of expertise with The Pet Shop’s deep local market knowledge and extensive presence, we provide new opportunities to support pet owners through nutrition solutions, education, and care, while introducing more sustainable and innovative options for the region.”
Specialty retail stores account for approximately 50% of total pet food sales in the UAE, a figure expected to grow as pet owners seek expert guidance and support. The Pet Shop’s multi-channel approach ensures strong brand presence and consistent operations across stores and e-commerce platforms, enabling data-driven engagement and a seamless customer experience.
