At the 56th edition of the Middle East Watch & Jewellery Show, held at Expo Centre Sharjah, “Emirati Goldsmiths” platform stole the spotlight with breathtaking heritage-inspired designs. Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the platform gathered over 530 Emirati designers, marking a 35% increase from last year, and reaffirming its role as a hub for creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural pride in fine jewellery.
Heritage-Inspired Creations
The platform showcased exquisite collections blending tradition and modernity. From luxurious gold and diamond sets to pieces inspired by Emirati culture such as Al-Hiyoul and Al-Mandoos, designers presented creations that cater to bridal season trends, as well as contemporary tastes for all occasions.
Supporting Emirati Talent
H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the Chamber’s commitment to empowering Emirati youth and SMEs through initiatives like “Emirati Goldsmiths”. The growing number of participants reflects the platform’s success in turning emerging talent into recognized names in the jewellery sector.
From Tradition to Global Recognition
According to Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Executive Office Director at SCCI and Head of the Platform, many designers who started with “Emirati Goldsmiths” now exhibit independently under their own brands. This progress highlights the platform’s mission to transform local talent into international success stories.
