Aston Martin is gearing up for a thrilling start to its 2025 global GT racing program, with a focused effort on achieving victory at the 63rd Rolex 24 at Daytona. The British luxury sports car brand will be represented by the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, which will compete in both the GTD Pro and GTD categories at the world-renowned endurance race at Daytona International Speedway. This marks the beginning of an exciting year for Aston Martin as it prepares to take on some of the most prestigious endurance racing events around the globe.
The Heart of Racing (THOR), a key partner team, will be at the forefront of Aston Martin’s challenge at Daytona. The team has assembled a star-studded driver lineup, featuring champions like Roman De Angelis, Marco Sørensen, Ross Gunn, and Alex Riberas. They will be joined by other notable talents, including Zacharie Robichon, Mattia Drudi, Tom Gamble, and Casper Stevenson, who will drive the Vantage GT3 in both the GTD Pro and GTD classes.
Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3, which triumphed at the 2024 24 Hours of Spa and secured victories in major international endurance races, will be the car of choice for the team. With its proven capabilities, including a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine and a bonded aluminium chassis, the Vantage GT3 is more than ready to tackle the challenges of Daytona. The car shares its mechanical architecture with the Vantage road car, a perfect blend of performance, luxury, and innovation.
Alongside THOR, multiple successful racing teams will be competing with the Vantage, including Magnus Racing, a two-time Rolex 24 class winner. The team, which has been a strong presence in endurance racing, aims for another podium finish at Daytona with a talented lineup, including John Potter, Andy Lally, Spencer Pumpelly, and the renowned Nicki Thiim.
Additionally, van der Steur Racing will also field a Vantage GT3 in its first-ever race with the car, after a successful 2024 season in the GT4 category. The team will compete in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, taking on top endurance races like Daytona, Sebring, and Watkins Glen. The #19 Vantage will feature drivers Valentin Hasse Clot, Maxime Robin, Andrew McIntosh, and Rory van der Steur, all of whom bring a wealth of experience to the challenge.
The excitement doesn’t end at Daytona. Aston Martin will also be competing with four new Vantage GT4s in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) opener at Daytona, further emphasizing the brand’s commitment to success across multiple categories. Teams like Team TGM and Rebel Rock Racing will return to battle for the podium in the highly competitive GT4 class.
Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s Head of Endurance Motorsport, expressed his excitement ahead of the race, stating, “The Rolex 24 at Daytona is one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world, and it’s a great opportunity for us to show how strong our Vantage GT3 is. With such a talented lineup of drivers and incredible engineering support, we’re confident that we can deliver strong results this weekend, and we’re looking forward to the Valkyrie’s IMSA debut at Sebring in March.”
The 63rd Rolex 24 at Daytona is set to begin at 1:40 PM ET on Saturday, 25 January 2025, and Aston Martin is ready to make a bold statement as it embarks on an exciting new chapter in its global racing program.
