UAE Weather: Are More Winter Showers on the Horizon?

UAE Winter Weather

The latest five-day forecast from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) paints a picture of rainy skies, rough seas, and moderate winds. Though, let’s be honest, a quick glance out of the window might already have clued you in.

While coastal areas like Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been experiencing a noticeable chill in the air, the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah have taken things to the extreme, with temperatures plummeting to a frosty 2.2ºC—positively Arctic by UAE standards!

But how long will this wintry weather linger?

According to the NCM, the light-to-moderate rainfall is expected to taper off by Friday. The weekend will bring humid mornings, with a gradual warming trend starting Monday.

While the unprecedented April 2024 floods remain vivid in our memories, January traditionally marks the UAE’s rainiest month, averaging 19mm of precipitation. For context, last year’s record-breaking spring floods saw a staggering 254mm of rain pour down in less than 24 hours over Al Ain’s Khatm Al Sahkla area.
