Audemars Piguet Unveils a New Era with Its Landmark Meyrin Manufacturing Facility

Audemars Piguet Meyrin facility

In a bold move that redefines the future of haute horlogerie, Audemars Piguet has officially inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Meyrin on March 19, 2026. More than a simple expansion, this milestone represents a seamless fusion of heritage, innovation, and sustainability—hallmarks that continue to define the maison’s enduring legacy.

A Strategic Expansion Rooted in Vision

Set in the heart of Switzerland’s watchmaking landscape, the new Meyrin site marks a significant step forward for the brand. Designed to bring together case and bracelet production alongside a dedicated New Technologies hub, the facility creates a unified ecosystem where craftsmanship and advanced engineering coexist.

This strategic integration enhances collaboration across departments, allowing artisans and engineers to work in perfect harmony—resulting in greater efficiency and precision in every timepiece produced.

A Space Designed for Excellence

Spanning an impressive 9,000 square metres, the new facility is a major upgrade from the previous 2,400-square-metre site. Nearly 200 employees have already transitioned into the space, with capacity for up to 350 collaborators.

The workplace has been thoughtfully designed to prioritize comfort, flexibility, and productivity, ensuring that innovation thrives within an environment tailored for modern watchmaking excellence.

Honoring Heritage Through Architecture

At the core of the project lies a deep respect for history. The development began with the restoration of a former industrial building dating back to the 1960s, originally constructed for the pharmaceutical company Uhlmann Eyraud.

Rather than replacing the structure, Audemars Piguet chose to preserve its architectural identity, transforming it into a contemporary manufacturing space while maintaining its historical essence—an approach that perfectly reflects the brand’s philosophy.

Where Tradition Meets Modern Design

The transformation, led by FdMP architectes, blends the restored U-shaped building with a newly constructed four-storey structure that wraps around it.

This striking architectural dialogue between old and new is both visually captivating and symbolically powerful—representing the brand’s ability to evolve while staying rooted in its origins.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability played a central role in the project’s development. The facility incorporates environmentally responsible practices, from energy optimization to adaptable workspaces, aligning with modern ecological standards.

Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure long-term efficiency without compromising the artistry and precision synonymous with the brand.

A Milestone Moment for the Brand

The inauguration ceremony gathered local authorities, project partners, and members of the brand’s leadership, marking not just the completion of a major development, but the beginning of a new chapter.

This moment underscores Audemars Piguet’s commitment to shaping the future of watchmaking while preserving the craftsmanship that defines its identity.

Shaping the Future of Haute Horlogerie

More than a manufacturing site, the Meyrin facility is a strategic investment in innovation and excellence. By consolidating key operations and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, the brand is positioning itself to meet evolving demands while maintaining its artisanal DNA.

In a world where precision meets passion, this new chapter proves that true luxury lies in the balance between tradition and forward-thinking vision.
