Richard Mille has introduced its latest statement piece, the RM 07-01 Colored Ceramics, a limited-edition collection that boldly reimagines contemporary watch design through a vibrant, artistic lens.
Inspired by the daring aesthetic of the Memphis Design movement of the 1980s, the timepieces embrace strong color contrasts, playful geometry, and an unconventional spirit that sets them apart from traditional luxury watches.
Crafted entirely from ceramic, each watch represents a technical challenge, especially when it comes to gem-setting. The process requires meticulous manual precision to secure each stone on such a resistant material. Every version stands out with its own color story:
– Blush Pink combines diamonds with yellow and blue sapphires
– Powder Blue features diamonds, pink sapphires, and tsavorites
– Lavender Pink pairs diamonds with orange sapphires and rubies
The dial is equally intricate, blending hand-executed guilloché engraving with colored ceramic elements, laser-cut rubber details, and diamond-set components framed in white gold inserts—resulting in a layered, highly architectural composition.
In terms of specifications, the RM 07-01 measures 31 × 45 mm with a thickness of 11.85 mm, powered by an automatic movement offering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The design remains focused on aesthetics, with no additional complications.
