First Look Inside the Ferrari Luce: A New Era of Electric Design

Ferrari Luce، Ferrari electric car

The interior reveal of the Luce, the brand’s first fully electric model, marks a shift in how future performance cars may be imagined. Rather than focusing on power output or battery figures, the Luce introduces a new design philosophy built around clarity, emotion and material honesty.

Developed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the team led by Jony Ive and Marc Newson rethought the cabin from the inside out. Their approach blends the precision of refined consumer tech with the soul of a performance machine.

Inside, the cockpit is intentionally simple: a sculpted aluminium structure, a focused driver binnacle, and a central display—all reduced to their essential purpose. Tactile controls replace oversized touchscreens, emphasising mechanical feedback and intuitive interaction. Materials take the lead, with recycled aluminium and precision-milled Gorilla Glass forming the core of the environment.

The three-spoke steering wheel, inspired by Ferrari classics of the 1950s and 60s, becomes the emotional centre. Lightweight, meticulously machined, and built from 19 components, it balances tradition with advanced craftsmanship. Even the key—made of Gorilla Glass and featuring an E Ink display—turns the start-up sequence into a deliberate, ceremonial moment.

Displays are engineered to reduce cognitive load, including a new column-mounted binnacle with layered OLED technology developed with Samsung Display. Information appears with depth and clarity, enhancing focus without distraction.

The Luce interior signals more than the arrival of an electric Ferrari—it marks a defining moment for contemporary automotive design, where emotion and engineering move together into a new era.
