Aston Martin Valkyrie and Vantage End FIA WEC Season on a High Note

Aston Martin Valkyrie

Aston Martin concluded its debut FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season with remarkable progress, as both the Valkyrie and Vantage models achieved milestone results at the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain. From leading a WEC round for the first time to securing a podium finish, Aston Martin reaffirmed its position as a force in endurance racing.

Aston Martin Valkyrie: A Promising Debut Season

The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar marked its first season in global competition with back-to-back points finishes. The #009 entry, driven by Marco Sørensen, Alex Riberas, and Roman De Angelis, finished seventh in Bahrain — following a fifth-place result in Japan. For the first time, Valkyrie led a WEC race, showcasing its growing potential.

Developed from the production Valkyrie, this Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) blends a carbon-fibre chassis with a 6.5-litre V12 engine producing over 1000bhp. Competing under strict hypercar regulations, it has proven Aston Martin’s engineering excellence and resilience throughout more than 22,000 racing miles.

Vantage: Podium Glory in Bahrain

Aston Martin’s legendary Vantage ended the WEC season with a strong podium finish in the LMGT3 class. The Heart of Racing Team, led by Ian James, Zach Robichon, and Mattia Drudi, finished third in Bahrain — marking the car’s second podium of 2025.

Built around a bonded aluminium chassis and powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine, the Vantage GT3 has earned multiple podiums across global endurance events, including Le Mans, Spa, and Nürburgring.

Aston Martin’s Road Ahead

According to Adam Carter, Head of Endurance Motorsport at Aston Martin, the 2025 season laid a strong foundation for future success:

“Bringing such a unique car as Valkyrie to this stage and improving race after race shows the team’s ability and determination. We will continue to build on this momentum in 2026.”

With both Valkyrie and Vantage showing impressive evolution, Aston Martin’s endurance racing future looks brighter than ever.
