Flying Over Vegas: The One-Person eVTOL That Lets You Soar Like a Bird

Airscooter

Imagine hovering above the desert skyline of Las Vegas, feeling the rush of wind and freedom that only birds once knew. This fantasy is about to become reality with Zapata’s AirScooter, a revolutionary one-person electric flying machine set to redefine luxury adventure and personal aviation. Soon, travelers will have the chance to fly themselves—no pilot license required—just pure exhilaration above Sin City.

 A Dream of Flight, Reinvented

French inventor Franky Zapata, known for his jet-powered Flyboard and JetRacer, has unveiled his newest innovation: the Airscooter, a sleek single-seat eVTOL that blends futuristic technology with a timeless human dream—to fly alone.

With its hybrid fuel-electric propulsion system and a computer-assisted flight control that adjusts heading, speed, and altitude a hundred times per second, the AirScooter promises a smooth and intuitive flying experience. Zapata claims it’s “easier to fly than driving a car.”

 The Ultimate Las Vegas Experience

Launching in January 2026, Zapata’s first Airscooter Flight Center will open near Las Vegas, offering adventurers the chance to pilot this futuristic craft on a geo-fenced desert track covering 50 acres.

Each two-hour session includes training on a VR simulator, followed by real-time flight reaching speeds up to 60 mph and an altitude limit of 150 feet. The total experience costs between $350 and $500, offering a once-in-a-lifetime thrill for luxury travelers seeking something beyond the ordinary.

 From Experience to Ownership

For the few who wish to take this fantasy home, Zapata plans to sell the Airscooter for $250,000 starting next year. With a range of about 70 miles and an ideal cruising speed of 35 mph, it’s not built for long-distance travel—but it’s perfect for those with private land seeking an exclusive taste of flight.

While FAA regulations currently prevent ultralights from flying over populated areas, the AirScooter still offers something money can rarely buy: the feeling of limitless freedom.

 The Future of Personal Flight

Zapata envisions a future where individual flight becomes as common as driving—a world where one could “take off from his garden and land in his friend’s garden.” Whether that dream is achievable or not, one thing is certain: the Airscooter has brought humanity one step closer to personal flight, merging technology, luxury, and imagination in the skies over Las Vegas.
